Unlike other holiday rental insurance products, BJS provide one insurance policy automatically covering your holiday home or your primary place of residence for building, contents & tenant damage while the home is being used as a short term holiday rental.
Having one policy with one insurance company eliminates the risk of home owners’ forgetting to take out add-on holiday rental insurance each time there is a new booking at their property (and potentially leaving the owner uninsured if add-on insurance is missed). Holiday rental insurance may also be referred to as vacation rental insurance, short stay insurance or holiday accommodation insurance. The holiday rental insurance policies provided by BJS are only available to holiday rentals located within Australia.

BJS can arrange cover for a variety of properties used for short term accommodation. We can cover Holiday homes, secondary residences and your main place of residence if the property is available for holiday rental / short term accommodation.
For holiday homes & secondary residences, automatic cover applies for the owners’ personal use of the home plus unlimited holiday rental use by paying guests. You do not need to tell us each time you have a booking. When renting your main homestead to short term tenants, building & contents cover is available with an extension to cover damage & theft by a tenant. Liability cover for short term tenants applies and there is also no limit on how often your main homestead is used for holiday letting.
Airbnb & Stayz

Our Holiday Rental Insurance policy is not restricted to professionally managed properties. Our policy is available to property owners who self manage their own bookings using an online portal such as Stayz, Airbnb, HomeAway, Wotif, etc.
Home owners requiring Stayz or Airbnb Insurance cover for self managed holiday rentals must have in place a minimum set of property management practises to protect themselves as the host and also their short term tenants. These practises are designed to minimise the risk of a claim whilst the property is holiday let. A questionnaire is included on our quote request page outlining the minimum acceptance criteria for property owners who are self managing their holiday rental on Stayz, Airbnb and/or other online hosting portals.
